PURPOSE

The purpose of this assignment is to develop learners’ ability to organise information and write a good report.

QUESTION

You are the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) president of a high performance school in your state. You have been receiving quite a number of emails and letters from parents expressing their concerns about the state of the school library. In your capacity as the PTA president, prepare a report (between 2500 and 3000 words) to the members of the committee conveying parents’ complaints and suggestions. The notes below may help you to write your report. Please remember to be as detailed as possible when making suggestions and recommendations as this report needs to be presented at the next PTA meeting for approval. As the suggestions below are only a selection of suggestions from some of the parents, you are encouraged to come up with your own recommendations with detailed elaborations.

Suggestions

· install air-conditioners

Your report should include the following criteria:

(a) INTRODUCTION

- Present the purpose of report and describe proposals or actions that need to be taken;


(b) BODY

- Describe the present situation, identify possible problems (at least 4);

- In this section you can also describe the need for changes to be made, or describe any costs and/or benefits that involved; and


(c) CONCLUSION

- Evaluate changes and provide recommendations.


In writing your report, try to be as detailed as you could, by giving in-depth descriptions of the problems and recommendations.
